How this calculator works
Driving range equals available fuel above the reserve divided by the number of litres in an imperial gallon, multiplied by UK MPG. The fill-up estimate multiplies the missing litres by the pump price.
For 30 litres remaining, a 5-litre reserve and 45 UK MPG, the estimated usable distance is about 247 miles. The actual result can change substantially with motorway speeds or heavy traffic.
Common questions
Does the reserve mean my warning light?
No. It is your chosen safety allowance in litres; fuel-warning lights are not calibrated consistently between models.
Can I enter fuel remaining as a percentage?
Convert the gauge percentage to litres first. For example, half of a 50-litre tank is about 25 litres.
