Terms of use

Last updated: 5 October 2026

These terms apply to use of fuelpricecalculator.co.uk. For enquiries or complaints, email [email protected].

The service

Fuel Price Calculator is a free UK-focused estimation tool for journey fuel costs. It provides estimates and reference information, not a fuel quote, booking service, navigation system or guarantee of spending. You do not make a purchase or enter a paid subscription by using it.

Inputs and estimates

Check your distance, fuel economy, units and pump price. UK MPG and US MPG use different gallon sizes. Real consumption can change with traffic, speed, hills, temperature, vehicle condition and load. Optional fuel allowances are chosen by you rather than automatically measured.

The return-trip option doubles the outbound distance. Actual return routes and travel times can differ. Regular-journey totals assume the selected costs and distances stay constant. Full-tank range is a theoretical estimate; usable fuel, reserves and real-world economy vary. Do not use an estimated range to decide whether it is safe to continue without refuelling.

Fuel prices and station information

Automatic calculator prices are weekly UK averages for standard petrol and diesel from DESNZ. Nearby forecourt results use retailer-reported UK Government Fuel Finder prices served via Fuel Near You, which refreshes its copy every 15 minutes. Reported prices can still be wrong, stale, missing or change before you arrive. Manually entered prices are your inputs and are not independently verified. Verify the pump price, fuel availability and opening hours at the forecourt before buying or making a special journey.

Routes and third-party services

Route distances and durations are estimates from public routing services without live traffic. Town-name matches may refer to a location's centre rather than your intended starting point; check the returned location names. Follow road signs, restrictions and conditions. We may change or withdraw a provider or feature when required for reliability or compliance.

Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully. Do not attempt unauthorised access, interfere with its operation, submit malicious content or overload external data services. Automated bulk requests may be restricted. Do not enter another person's confidential information or use the site while driving.

Copyright and sources

The site's original content and design belong to Fuel Price Calculator or its licensors. You may use the calculator and its results for your own lawful planning. Public data retains its source licence: OpenStreetMap contributor data is subject to the Open Database Licence. Nearby fuel prices are supplied by Fuel Near You from the UK Government Fuel Finder scheme under Fuel Near You’s published CC BY 4.0 terms; government fuel data is derived from Fuel Finder. Weekly national averages are DESNZ public data. This site is independent and is not endorsed by those providers.

Responsibility and your rights

We take reasonable care in maintaining the calculator, but cannot promise uninterrupted availability, error-free third-party data or that an estimate will match your actual spending. Subject to applicable law, we are not responsible for business losses arising from personal use of this free consumer tool. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. These terms do not remove statutory consumer rights.

Complaints, changes and governing law

If something appears wrong, contact us with the inputs, selected units and a description of the issue. We may update the service and these terms; the date above identifies this version. The laws of England and Wales apply, without depriving consumers elsewhere of mandatory local protections. Consumers may bring proceedings in the courts available to them under applicable law.
