How this calculator works
Fuel is calculated from the total miles you actually drive, UK MPG and pence per litre. We add tolls, parking and any other costs. The driver pays the stated percentage of their otherwise-equal share; the passengers cover the remainder equally.
With four occupants and a 100% driver discount, three passengers cover the shared costs. With a 0% discount, all four occupants pay exactly one quarter.

Do I enter one-way or return miles?
Enter total actual miles for everything you want to share, including any return travel.
Does this account for car wear?
Not by default. You can put an agreed additional amount in Other shared driving expenses if everyone wants to include wear and tear.
