We estimate driven miles, convert them to litres using imperial MPG, then add your non-fuel costs. The per-person result divides the entire budget equally. If only fuel should be shared, use our journey cost-split calculator instead.
Prices for accommodation, meals, tolls and parking are entirely user-entered. We do not claim to know the cost of a specific route, or whether there are congestion charges or ferry fees.
Common questions
Does this include the return journey automatically?
Only if you choose Return. The distance field always starts with the one-way driving distance.
Is the cost per person always fair?
It is an equal split. For uneven shares, adjust the costs manually or use the journey cost-split tool for the driving component.
